Day Four: Spicy Pear & Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

I woke up to a crisp autumn morning here in the spectacular Garden Route and felt like having something light, yet warming for breakfast. I bought some juicy pears at the market yesterday which are begging to be eaten. Paired (the cheesy pun is totally intended) with raw chocolate, warming ginger & chili plus a whole lot of nourishing foods, this smoothie bowl is a real Sunday treat!

Spicy Pear & Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
Serves 2


1 pear
knob of fresh ginger
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
a handful of alfalfa sprouts
1/2 cup macadamia nuts
4 dates (add more for sweetness if desired)
2 tablespoons oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 scoops Phytopro Thrive protein powder
Fresh chili to taste
1 cup almond milk

Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Top with oats, cacao nibs, goji berries, popped brown rice, cinnamon and macadamia nuts. Enjoy!
